Can't update due to "read-only"
Reported by Todd Singletary | June 5th, 2024 @ 02:09 PM
Mailmate is in my Applications folder, but I still get an error when I check for updates that says:
"MailMate is running on a read-only file system and can therefore not be updated.
If you downloaded MailMate from the internet then moving it out of the Downloads folder should solve the problem."
I have uninstalled and re-installed and still have the same issue. My email accounts work fine, but I can't get the latest betas.

Try manually overwriting your install by downloading this version: https://updates.mailmate-app.com/archives/MailMate_r6062.tbz
I'm not sure why this happens (it's not a general issue), but unfortunately MailMate does not have the ability to ask for permission to overwrite when it updates without the file permissions already allowing it to do so in its current install location.
