Closing quicklook via keyboard

I feel closing quicklook with the keyboard could be easier.
In Finder, pressing Cmd-Y again with quicklook open closes it, and I keep expecting the same to happen in MailMate, but it doesn't.
Esc does work, but only when the quicklook window has keyboard focus. If you've clicked anywhere else in MailMate (to switch back to it from another app for example), quicklook stays on top, but is no longer dismissible with Esc - or any other key, it seems.

When the Quicklook window is not in focus then I think Cmd-Y should focus it (I'm pretty sure this used to work), but otherwise I agree. It could/should be a toggle (to match Finder) when focused.
