Delete mailbox failed
Reported by George Dew | January 3rd, 2013 @ 12:30 AM
Attempted to delete a mailbox (possibly required by the server - can't delete it through webmail either). Delete failed, and I now receive the following message whenever I start MailMate:
** MailMate encountered the following error: “Server
response: “N3 NO [ALERT] delete Failed”. Command
attempted: “N3 DELETE "Contacts"”.”.
Mailbox: “Contacts”.
**
Options are "Retry", "Take Account Offline" and "Try Later".
I need the option to "Stop Trying". I can live with an empty mailbox; was just trying to clean up a bit.
Thanks.

I have a couple of similar reports which also involve the problem of MailMate getting stuck when the server refuses to delete a mailbox. It is possible to fix this manually, but first I want to see if I can make a fix for this today. Then you can test it for me.

Please try to fetch a test version of MailMate by holding down ⌥ when clicking “Check Now” in the Software Update preferences pane. You should get r3172. Test versions are not always stable, but this one should be as stable as the one you are already using.
MailMate should now ask if you want to cancel the deletion. Let me know how it goes.
