Mark duplicates - still working?

I did the mistake of moving over the folders but not re-downloading all messages when going to a new Macbook. Then there were many dupes. Not sure it's related, but I suspect this.

Unfortunately though, the "Mark duplicates" option doesn't select anything. I've then tried imapdedup and a few other tools, but with mixed success.

Is the feature currently maintained or is there any possibility to debug this to see what's selected (and maybe in fact there are no dupes for one or the other reason, maybe some obscure mail header that is unique ...)?

On a different note: the EXPUNGE method seems to be not generally available, and some smart mailbox to show the mails with the \Deleted flag would be great to review and finally get rid of mails (I have a quota on one mailbox I frequently use) - at least I could not find the mails marked as dupes by impadedup (which also should use the \Deleted flag) in MailMate.

The Select Duplicates feature hasn't changed (at least not intentionally), but its implementation is pretty naive. If I remember correctly it checks Message-ID and the size of the message. The latter would change even if there was a very minor difference. If you locate two seemingly identical messages which are not detected as duplicates then you can send them to me using “Help > Send Feedback” (drag them into the email). Then I can compare them to see if there are any differences.

You can manually setup a smart mailbox to show the \Deleted messages and then maybe use the Source Mailbox message list column to see their locations. The latter also
goes for learning more about duplicates.
