mail merge
Reported by Spencer Pangborn | November 11th, 2021 @ 01:41 AM
I'm on the MailMate free trial (day 3 now) and it seems like a good contender to replace Polymail for me. (I'm frustrated with some of the recent bugs in Polymail, but do like the macOS/iOS support.)
Are there plans to add mail merge functionality (bulk sending and tracking) into MailMate? I'm a biz dev/PR professional so being able to send tailored messages and track receipts is essential.
I have added the "Receipts" bundle but not sure I've configuring the feature correctly. I checked the README but wasn't able to figure it out.
I have no problem paying for the pro version once my free trial expires; hoping to get some help and insights about these features.

I have some plans for a template system, but you shouldn't buy anything based on plans (I have a lot of plans). I'll put this in the accepted stated which means I'll update the ticket if a template system is provided.
(Bundles do allow the user to do most things, but it's pretty low-level to work with.)
Email tracking is unlikely to ever be built-in (on the contrary, MailMate does a lot to prevent the user from being tracked), but this would not prevent a user from using some third party tracking-service to generate emails.
The Receipts bundle should give you “Command > Receipts > Add...” menu item. It'll naturally only work if you have the Receipts app which I can see isn't very clear in the description of the bundle.
