Hotmail sync stopped working

A couple of weeks ago, my Hotmail account (that I barely use) asked for authorization via the browser. So I authorised it, but... it does not work. While all messages suggest that the authorisation is properly given (including a confirmation message in the browser), back in MailMate once again MailMate asks for authorization using a browser. Said differently: the Hotmail IMAP authorization in MailMate has become an endless loop...
Note that this happened in the v5757 version I was using until last week, as well as in the v5792 beta version I am using to overcome a preview window error. Using MacOS 11.2.3 on an M1 MacBook Pro.

I can confirm that I have a problem with my outlook.com address as well. I'll look into it.

There doesn't seem to be a quick fix. For now, you can disable OAuth2 for both IMAP and SMTP for the account and use the password for the account itself (or an application specific password if you have two factor authentication enabled).
