Smart Addresses feature request.

Reported by Jack Saturn | November 30th, 2020 @ 10:07 PM

Hi Benny,

I use email, and Mailmate specifically, as the primary method for communicating with my customers. Sometimes it is hard to immediately identify who is contacting me - let's say I have multiple clients named "Will," but the person doesn't have their full name listed in their Gmail account. When they write to me, I have to open the message, check their email address, then manually cross-reference that against the contact I've created for them in the macOS Contacts app.

Would it be possible to implement the Smart Address feature that is used in the macOS and iOS Mail apps? When I open my messages on my iPhone, I see the senders appear based on the name I have listed for them in Contacts, and this is a huge timesaver.

I've tried asking the Mailmate email list if perhaps this is a feature in the hidden preferences, or if I'm overlooking how to turn this feature on, but haven't gotten a reply from anyone. I appreciate all your work on this excellent app and I understand this isn't a priority - just curious if it might be possible for the future. Thanks so much!

-Jack
