Copy from header (small usability point)

Reported by Paul | April 7th, 2020 @ 02:36 AM

Hi Benny,

I'm commenting on some inconsistencies in how I am able to Copy from header fields in preview or a message window.

Left click behaves more or less the same in any header - setting a mailbox filter on that value. That's OK.

Right click in an address header (To/Cc/From) gives a bunch of options, all OK.

Right click in Subject gives 2 options: (plain) Copy and Copy Without Prefix.
- This is the only place where the prefix (header name) can be included in the copy, so that's a bit inconsistent. - It's not intuitive since the underline highlight is only shown on the text, not the name of the header. - It seems strange that "with prefix" is the "default" for Copy. Much more likely I would want to copy the subject text, without "Subject: " prefix.

Right click on Date value behaves like Left-click. For consistency maybe it also should copy the value.

As for copying the "prefix" (name) of the header, I might suggest that if this is useful, it be a right-click option on the header name itself, and that in that case the underline would be shown to cover the entire name and value. In this case I would make that available on all headers, and not bother with the special options which are provided for "Subject".

I do realise that I can click and drag across the header to copy parts of it, in the normal way, which is also good.

I'm just suggesting to tidy up the handling of the individual fields.

Thanks for a great product!

Paul.
