emate to interpret markdown in e-mail body

Hi,

I was trying to send mail from command line using the following command:

emate mailto --send-now --subject "Invitation" --to someone@somewhere.cz ~/invitation.pdf < email.md

Since I need to send a URL in the body, I thought I could simply write the email.md in Markdown and let MailMate interpret it. However, the e-mail body gets sent as a text/plain.

Is there any possibility to setup emate to interpret Markdown?
