Getting attachment file path

I am attempting to create a bundle command that accesses the path to PDF/Word etc attachments in a message. I have a mmCommand that includes the following:
inputFilesPattern = 'application/';
And in the script called by the command I have the following code:
file=${MM_FILES}
However this doesn't seem to work ie. it does not pick up any attachments. Any pointers on how I can get this to work?
