MailMate crashes every time I try to create a new Smart Mailbox
Reported by Robin Walsh | September 13th, 2018 @ 04:17 PM
Hi there,
I've just started using MailMate and I love it so far --- with one caveat. It crashes on me every time I try to make a new Smart Mailbox. I've already made a few and want to make some more, but I can't.
I'm attaching the crash report. Let me know if you want any other information. Thanks!

It seems like somehow it triggers a recursively defined mailbox, but I'm not 100% sure.
Could you send me the following file using “Help ▸ Send Feedback”:
/Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/MailMate/Mailboxes.plist
Then I might be able to reproduce it.
It might also matter which mailbox is selected when you create the smart mailbox?

Yup, if I'm currently selecting a smart mailbox, it crashes.

- State changed from “new” to “fixcommitted”
I've found the problem. You can prevent it by disabling “Include messages in any submailbox of this mailbox” for the selected mailbox. This is what causes a recursion.
I've fixed it for the next release such that the new mailbox is not based on the parent mailbox if that setting is enabled.

Hold down ⌥ when clicking “Check Now” in the Software Update preferences pane to try the fixed release.
