Reported by Michael Hirdes | August 27th, 2018 @ 07:12 AM

when starting the app it crashes right away. when starting from terminal, it starts, but reports:

MailMate[23679:193481] CFPropertyListCreateFromXMLData(): Old-style plist parser: missing semicolon in dictionary on line 7. Parsing will be abandoned. Break on _CFPropertyListMissingSemicolon to debug.

Just in case, do you have developer tools installed (in particular, lldb)?

The crash report is not very helpful, but it might show that the problem is related to sending crash reports. I'll check that when I'm on Mojave and then I might have more questions.

Came here via Twitter (https://twitter.com/mailmateapp/status/1036181340885016576). I launched the app via lldb and this is its output!

    Process 38295 launched: '/Applications/MailMate.app/Contents/MacOS/MailMate' (x86_64)
2018-09-02 12:06:09.569299+0200 MailMate[38295:780217] [default] Unable to load Info.plist exceptions (eGPUOverrides)
2018-09-02 12:06:10.163784+0200 MailMate[38295:780217] [access] This app has crashed because it attempted to access privacy-sensitive data without a usage description. The app's Info.plist must contain an NSContactsUsageDescription key with a string value explaining to the user how the app uses this data.
    Process 38295 stopped

        0x7fff600d0028 <+20>: retq
    Target 0: (MailMate) stopped.

    Can I help any further?

@Joris: Thanks, it looks like something that should be reproducible. (It does not look like the same issue as reported by the OP.) I expect to look into various Mojave issues tomorrow.

@Joris: I'm now on the latest release of Mojave (Beta 10.14, 18A377a). After some experiments I managed to reproduce the issue. I'll let you know when it's fixed.

@Joris: You can download a fixed release here (r5518).

@Michael: I also assume this does not fix your issue.

@benny: Thank you very much! The program starts without issues now!

    • State changed from “new” to “cantreproduce”

@Joris: Thanks for letting me know.

@Michael: I'm going to mark the ticket as cantreproduce for now, but let me know if this is still reproducible and I'll see if I can find some way to debug it.
