Error editing IMAP subscriptions

Problem

When trying to edit IMAP subscription in IMAP Account Settings - Edit Subscriptions, MailMate says 'Error: "reading ended without error"'.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. add an IMAP account (I'm using Fastmail)
  2. right-click the account in Sources
  3. click "Edit IMAP Account..."
  4. click "Edit Subscriptions..."
  5. the problem described above happened

Solutions Tried

  1. removing everything in Application Support/MailMate
  2. restarting the app

    Debugging “Edit Subscriptions...” is a bit tricky since it's not currently logged in the Activity Viewer (⌥⌘0). It is possible to get a set of logs in a different way though. First enable logging like this in a Terminal window:

    defaults write com.freron.MailMate LoggingEnabled -bool YES

    Then after seeing the error message the following file should exist:

    /tmp/mailmate_imap_subscriptions.log

    If you are able to do the above, could you then send me that file?

    Hi Benny,

    Thank you for the reply! Unfortunately I’m no longer able to reproduce the problem here. I deleted all MailMate’s files under Application Support directory, and restarted the application. Then I imported my Fastmail account from Apple Mail, and I’m able to edit subscriptions now. During the time I also moved from China to the US, so I guess the network played a part in the bug, too…

    I’ll keep an eye on this bug. If that happens again, I’ll dump the log and send it to you.
