program bugging
Reported by Lorraine Goodman | June 29th, 2018 @ 02:41 PM
Hi Benny
The program has a couple of times told me it needs a rebuild,
and today froze, quite a few emails held up at the time.
Just wondering if I can protect my emails by doing something now
rather than waiting for the possibilty of
a crash after which I might not be able to recover emails.
Thanks
Lorraine

Sorry about the late reply. I missed the severity of the issue.
Most of your emails should be on the IMAP server, so I'm assuming you mean drafts (or emails in the process of being sent).
In any case, MailMate is naturally not supposed to be this unstable. Rebuilds should be very rare and most users should never see them. I would very much like to debug whatever causes it for you. I'd like to know more details about your IMAP server(s), the error messages you get, or anything else which might be relevant. First of all, I'd like to see the following file:
~/Library/Application Support/MailMate/database.log
It might contain email addresses and therefore you should send it to me using “Help ▸ Send Feedback” within MailMate.
About drafts/sent messages: MailMate saves drafts as standard
.eml
files. If you have problems then you might be able to recover an email by locating it in a folder within the hierarchy of folders found here:/Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/MailMate/Messages/IMAP/

Hi Benny
I haven't managed to find the file but will see if I ask someone more search-savvy than I am.
In the meantime, Mailmate crashed again and I had to rebuild just now. Error message attached. I do have a huge no of emails on Mailmate and perhaps that's the reason it's crashing..?
ThanksLorraine
