Yes, MailMate is also mentioned in the paper several times. The issues were reported to me back in February and I released an update with fixes in March. The paper is still based on version 1.10 (December, 2017) and, as far as I know, they have not tested subsequent releases.
There are never any guarantees, but currently I consider these issues to be fixed.

I'm not surprised to hear that you've already pushed out a fix - you rock!
I'd seen that Mailmate was specifically mentioned in the paper, but couldn't understand if it was affected or not. I'm also surprised that my initial search didn't bring up your blog post. So sorry to make you repeat yourself. I know you've got better things to do.
