Rule creation is ignored by 1.11.1 (5473)
Reported by paul messenich | April 18th, 2018 @ 07:48 PM
I noticed that two long existing IMAP mailboxes, traingood and trainspam, were missing the Rules necessary to Set Tag/Keyword Junk/NotJunk and move the inbound messages to the correct mailbox when doing SpamSieve Remote Training. You can click the IMAP mailbox, Edit Mailbox..., click + and add the conditionless rule and actions, but click OK and the new Rule does not appear in the window. Not sure if this is cosmetic or otherwise. How would I check?

The existing rules of the mailbox disappeared? Maybe even without editing rules?
I think I've fixed a bug in creating new rules for a mailbox, but the bug shouldn't have deleted existing rules.
Could you try again with the latest test release (r5475)?

I also found that if I edit Maiboxes.plist to add the rules manually for the folders and then Open MailMate.app that Mailboxes.plist is rewritten with the traingood and trainspam rules that I added removed.

If you edited the file while MailMate was running then it would be expected behavior. The file is (often) overwritten when quitting MailMate. Was MailMate running?

Yes, MailMate was running and (r5475) fixes the problem. Thanks for looking at the issue.

Just to clarify, I was trying to add new rules to a pair of existing IMAP mailboxes using the right-click on Mailbox > Edit Mailbox... > Rules > + > Add conditionless rules details > Click OK. It would not save the new rule with (r5473). The rule is saved using (r5475).
