Standard Mailboxes
Reported by Charlie | October 28th, 2011 @ 07:27 PM
How does one set up a standard mailbox, like in Eudora, Thunderbird or Apple Mail?
What is an IMAP mailbox? A standard mailbox? Or something else? Mailbox>New IMAP mailbox is always grayed for me.

MailMate only supports IMAP which means that any (standard) mailbox you want to create must be within an IMAP account, that is, located on the server. The menu item is not grayed out if you first select an IMAP mailbox within one of your accounts (under the SOURCES section of the mailbox outline). The mailbox is then created as a child of the selected IMAP mailbox (or account).
In other words, it is not possible to create mailboxes which are only located on the local machine. This is by design (an intentional limitation).
Let me know if this is not clear.
And by the way, thanks for trying out MailMate and providing feedback.

Operating in the SOURCES section works. Makes sense. I only want to create IMAP (synced) mailboxes. Thank you.
