iCloud account setup

Reported by Tim Lance | July 12th, 2017 @ 01:56 AM

I have been using email clients since the 80s yet am feeling like a n00b trying to get MailMate and my iCloud account to play nice.

iCloud email: xxx@icloud.com
AppleID: xxx@gmail.com
password: xxxxxxxxx

I believe I have tried every combination for the IMAP Account Settings but none take.

What should I enter for:
IMAP Server:
SMTP Server:
Username:

The official settings are described here, but your real problem is probably the need for an application specific password as described here.

If that doesn't help then let me know.

(I'll remove your email addresses from the ticket to ensure they are not scraped by spammers.)

Nuts! Your reply went to my Junk folder. I neglected to look there nor here. Mostly because I found the blog post and so got it working right away. Should have searched better. Excellent work. I'm not what I would call a power user but I find myself liking MailMate very much and appreciate how you and it operate. I'm retired on the proverbial fixed income but I hope to make some room in the budget to purchase at the first of the month.

Thanks for the reply and the good work.

I'm glad you got it working. (You can write me via “Help ▸ Send Feedback” if you have purchase related inquiries.)
