URLs with tilde (~) are wrongly flagged
Reported by Christopher Corbettis | June 14th, 2017 @ 11:14 AM
The warning (red) tooltip sometimes shows up with URLs containing tildes (~)
This happens under (as far as I can find) two circumstances:
- URL not written up in Markdown.
- URL written up in Markdown, with the text part of the Markdown containing a colon.
Notes:
- This shows in both the edit window and in the main MailMate window when it’s viewed as a draft.
- The warning appears in both right and bottom oriented preview layouts.
- Markdown footnotes are unaffected.
- I think this is probably due to a mismatch between the URL as typed and the URL encoding of the tilde character.
Steps to reproduce:
- Create a new email.
-
Paste in the following:
1. [example](http://example.org/~1) 2. [http://](http://example.org/~2) 3. [:](http://example.org/~3) 4. http://example.org/~ 5. http://example.org/~test 6. example[1] [1]: http://example.org/~
-
If the preview hasn’t automatically appeared, toggle it on.
-
Hover over each of the URLs in turn, you will notice URLs 2-5 cause a red warning tooltip to appear.
