Please improve the bundle for Todoist
Reported by Robert Brenstein | May 8th, 2017 @ 05:21 PM
The items inserted into Todoist are for example:
Modulverantwortliche Link: message://%3cef1a38d2-a866-d67e-e558-98d0e74f7898@uni-potsdam.de%3e
That is \subject\ Link: message://\msg-identifier\
Many of my subjects are long and with the message link shown explicitly such items are quite long and not easily readable. Furthermore, if I have a several such items in the current todo list, which is common, the list becomes hard to scan optically to find the right item.
Suggestion: insert the items as
Modulverantwortliche message://%3cef1a38d2-a866-d67e-e558-98d0e74f7898@uni-potsdam.de%3e (Link)
that is \subject\ message://\msg-identifier\ (Link)
This makes the example item shown in Todoist as: Modulverantwortliche Link
Short and sweet. The word 'Link' is clickable, expanding to the message URL being open in MailMate.
I started doing such conversions manually, but it is too disruptive. It would be nice to have the bundle to it automatically and it should be a trivial change. If someone wants to see the full link for some weird reason, switching the editing mode in Todoist will show the full URL. I looked at the bundle whether I can change this myself, but it seems that this part is in a binary file.

- State changed from new to fixreleased
I didn't know this was possible, but I can see there are also other formatting options. I've updated it as suggested, but I do see issues with the robustness of this if any of the formatting syntax is present in the subject itself. It seems there's not much I can do about thought.
You should see the change within a few hours.

Nice! It works as desired when I use "Add..." Unfortunately, "Add With Summary..." variant does not do anything anymore. I mean no entry in Todoist is generated. Have you seen ticket 1724 about it, by the way?

Sorry. After more tests, I see that the "Add With Summary..." actually ads a new entry. It just takes 15-30 mins for it to show up in Todoist for whatever reason. Yes, that long indeed!

In order to add a note to a Todoist task then MailMate must use a different interface. This means that the Todoist app is not directly notified. I believe you should be able to explicitly synchronized Todoist to make it show up faster.
(Notes only works for paying Todoist users I believe -- which means I cannot really test this functionality.)

I am a paying Todoist user and I am getting no option to enter a note at any point. I addressed that in the ticket #1724. I think we should move the discussion there. Manual sync indeed makes the entry show right away, which is a bit strange since todoist syncs more often than 15-30 mins, but we can consider this aspect resolved.
