Mail keeps coming back after deletion
Reported by Peter | March 8th, 2017 @ 12:58 PM
When deleting/archiving an email that just came in after syncing with my IMAP server, Mailmate deletes/archives that email but adds a new copy of the same email in the inbox.
My provider is Soverin.net, my guess is they use Dovecot. Mailmate version is Version 1.9.6 (5358)
I found this issue

.
Sounds like the same problem.

Sorry, I'm quite a bit behind on open tickets and this one didn't ring a bell.
First make sure that all mailboxes are online under “SOURCES” in the mailbox list (no greyed out mailbox names).
Then generate logs for me like this:
- Open the Activity Viewer (⌥⌘0).
- Wait for an unexpected copy to appear.
- Use “Help ▸ Send Server Logs”.
Then (tomorrow) I'll see if I can spot anything suspicious.

Done. It is not my intention to push you or anything. I understand Mailmate is a "one man team project". But it is very annoying behaviour ;)

I don't see anything suspicious in these logs. 3 messages are deleted, that is, moved to “Deleted Messages”. These moves are successful (no error messages). I don't see anything new arriving in the INBOX.
Could you describe in more detail what you see?
Note that the mailboxes under SOURCES are virtual mailboxes showing all messages in each account. This includes deleted messages (but this does not mean that you should ever see duplicates).
Also note that you can use the “Source Mailbox” column in the message list if you are uncertain of the exact IMAP location of a given message.
(You have been very patient.)
