Double-click search behavior
Reported by Matt Petrowsky | January 5th, 2017 @ 11:15 PM
This is a feature modification request.
When using the Double-click search feature, the default behavior is to search All Messages. When using a highly filtered setup, the more ideal solution is to stay within the context of what is being viewed. Switching the context from the currently selected folder to the All Messages folder is initially disorienting. Also, staying within context may match user expectations.
For example. If I'm currently selected on a Smart Mailbox which is filtering out all Social or Promotional email and I double click the From column, I would expect the filter to apply to the current mailbox (smart mailbox or otherwise).
Suggestion: Provide either a hidden or exposed preference for the Double-click option to operate on the current context or switch to All Messages (current default).
This will be especially helpful for users working with multiple different accounts when filtering on something like the subject line.

I think that the option key modifier does what you want, just like it does it for general search box on top.

- State changed from new to closed
Note that the popup menu in the toolbar search field has a “Default Mailbox” setting. This can be changed to “Current Mailbox” and this also affects double-click searches. I know, this should probably be a more prominent setting :)

Ah wonderful! Like most things in MailMate. It's already there. It was just hidden from me. :)
