add view mode switch in the msg display window
Reported by Robert Brenstein | January 5th, 2017 @ 07:00 PM
It would be nice to be able to toggle between the text-only and html views when displaying incoming mail in its own window (not the preview pane). You have such a toggle in the mail composing window.
I am talking about an option to add such a switch to the window toolbar via the toolbar editor.
Reason for this request: I have the setting to prefer text format selected and it works fine, but I need to see some mails in their fully formatted glory. I am using the View->Message Body Parts->HTML menuitem to switch the view mode, of course. However, it is low in the submenu, so it is not a simple switch and I seem to be needing it often enough that this menu trip is becoming a chore.

I would certainly recommend learning the keyboard shortcuts, but I know you are mouse-oriented user :)
In theory, there could be more than 2 alternative formats. In practice, it's probably very rare with more than 2, but I have to consider it anyways.
I do have something like this on my to do though (a segmented button in the headers view whenever alternatives exist).

Yes, a segmented button like "composition" with segments becoming active for available formats would be perfect. Icons could be just stylized first letters of each format.
