behavior when archiving nested messages

I mean by nested messages when they are displayed by threads.
I have the feeling that when I archive a which is not the last one of a thread, the bahvior is sometimes not the same (following messages are all archived or only one ...). However, I did not get a reproductible pattern yet.
Would it be possible to detail a bit how MailMate is expected to behave when archiving a message in a thread (regarding especially the archiving of read and unread of other previous and following messages of the thread)?

- State changed from “new” to “closed”
Expected behavior is to archive all messages below the selected one if
it is unexpanded. And only the selected one if it is expanded. This goes
for most actions which can be applied to multiple messages.[state:closed]
