Scrolling issue - incoming mail hidden

Reported by Oli | July 19th, 2016 @ 08:01 AM

Good Day

For some obscure reason I experience a very strange behavior for the last few days.

PREVIOUSLY:
- New emails arrive - Counter is updated, sound played - Shown in the inbox on top of the list

NOW:
- New emails arrive - Counter is updated, sound played - The inbox shows the pre-mail-arrival-view, means: the last email I looked at is on top - If I want to see the new mail, I have to manually scroll up

I really don't know how to fix this, but it's driving me slightly mad as I always have to scroll up to see if new mail arrived...

Thank you for your help and your absolutely fantastic product.

Oliver

I'm not quite sure what could trigger this, but I'd like you to try a newer beta of MailMate. Send me an email via “Help ▸ Send Feedback”.

I have this same issue and want to help. MailMate on my MacBook Pro works as expected. If I have more messages in the viewer list and receive new mail, it scrolls down moving older mail off screen at the top of the list to show me the new incoming mail at the bottom.

I also have Mailmate on an iMac that presents the issue reported by Oli in 2016. The difference is driving me mad! Is there anything I can compare or provide from each installation that can help to resolve this issue?

    Hi Eric

A blast from the past... :-) 5 years later but I still LOVE Mailmate.
First of all: back then, my problem was solved by installing the newer beta version and the problem never re-appeared.

Reading your message I wanted to confirm that it actually is the same bug re-appearing. I have my mail sorted NEW (on top) to OLD (bottom). While experiencing the bug, new mail would be "added" on top (as expected) but the view would not show it. The first VIEWABLE mail would still be the 2nd latest received. To view the latest email, I would have to scroll up.

To me it seems like you use another sorting mechanism. Would you mind trying to reproduce this with the sorting changed to NEW --> OLD as above? Maybe that would save Benny time to solve the mystery...

    Stay well!
