emate CLI to generate HTML from markdown
Reported by Sebastien Varrette | June 6th, 2016 @ 02:01 PM
Mailmate: Version 1.9.4 (5234)
Hi Bennie,
I need to automate the sending of a call for paper which text is
written in Markdown.
I was thus expecting to be able to use the emate
CLI
to perform this operation, i.e. ensuring a markdown based
markup and an HTML generated version of the mail (from the
interpreted markdown). My first attempt failed:
cat call_for_papers.md | emate mailto --send-now --header "format: flowed" --header "markup: markdown" --to "<recipient 1>" --subject "Call for Papers - <subject>"
However, while it seems my guess was correct as regards the html
generation, the mail remains formatted by default in plain
text.
Any hint ?

Sorry about the late reply!
I've changed it such that the next update of MailMate allows the use of
--header "#markup: markdown"
