default BCC for only one account, not globally

Reported by Lars | June 3rd, 2016 @ 12:26 PM

Hi Benny

I am looking for a way to bcc myself in, but only on one account. MmDefaultBccHeader only allows for global bcc - is there a way for account specific bcc?

Background: My mailserver allows for sieve-filters to encrypt incoming e-mail, but has nothing in place for the sent folder. Using bcc to have them processed by sieve, too.

Also, this is similar to ticket #852 (but I actually want account specific instead of global bcc with a variable).

Cheers,
Lars

The closest is ticket #852 for now. I can note this request, but I cannot claim that it's going to be high on my list.

Are you sure you couldn't do something different than Bcc'ing. Alternatively, you could put a rule on the sent messages mailbox of the account which redirects the sent email. You could do that for a single account.

I have changed to redirecting now, which does kind of clutter my sent folder messages with Resent headers, but that's the closest I could get. A transparent redirect would have been the most helpful option, but I guess that's not really a widespread use case... In any case, the custom bcc isn't that high up on my list anymore, either.

This is actually quite interesting as it is a very useful function for sales people. Sales people BCC their CRM in order to track progress.

If you use Mailmate for both personal and professional projects, you do not want to also BCC personal emails to the corporate CRM.

@kq: Thanks for the use case example (I like those). Couldn't this still be handled by only redirecting the professional emails? (Although I can see the benefit of having the visible Bcc header pre-filled.)
