Default Downloads Folder preference not working?

I'm a new MailMate user (V1.9.3). The default download folder preference doesn't seem to work. No matter what I set it to, attachments save in ~/Downloads when I hit save. (I can see the setting take when I look at defaults read com.freron.mailmate.)
It's not a major issue for me but it seems like a bug.

It's a known bug and it'll be fixed in the next release. You can fetch the latest beta if you like (Software Update preferences pane).
