r5213 MmShowAttachmentsFirst option affects the order mail is shown
Reported by Alex | February 19th, 2016 @ 06:59 PM
I recently upgraded to r5213 and took advantage of the new MmShowAttachmentsFirst hidden option.
It is a very nice feature (and much needed one as I often overlook attachments since they show at the bottom of the mail). However, there are two issues with it:
-
(minor) After I turned it on, the attachments are shown at the bottom of the mail too, which is a bit awkward. Could it be changed so it is shown only at the top?
-
(major) For some strange reason, after turning this option on, whenever I click on a mailbox it shows me the last message in this mailbox instead of the first one. As a result, whenever I want to get to the most recent message I have to scroll all the way up.
Needless to say, the need to scroll up a couple of hundreds of messages each time I want to check incoming mail is not ideal and I had to turn off this option for now. (This immediately fixed the issue above.)
Could this option be fixed?
Thanks!

- State changed from new to cantreproduce
Minor: It's not easily changed and this is just a stop-gap solution until I can come up with something better.
Major: I'm quite sure this must be an unrelated issue. Something else must have triggered this behavior (maybe a bug in r5213).

Indeed, the "major" issue returned, so it is probably unrelated.
Still, any hope to fix that issue (or at least revert back to previous version)?

You can download the latest public version on the homepage, but I would prefer debugging the issue.
What is your sort order in the mailbox showing the last (oldest?) message instead of the first (newest?) message?
