setting up mail mate

I accepted the automatic suggestion presented when setting up my
mail accounts - but there seems to be duplicated of several. I
thought a single line represented a server address, and when I saw
two instances of a ail account that it was for incoming and
outgoing messages.
Now its set up - but I have two mailboxes for several accounts. Can
someone advise me how I can clear this up please?
I'd like to delete one of two instances for a couple of
accounts.
