0auth2
Reported by Lorraine Goodman | November 26th, 2015 @ 04:43 PM
HI Benny
I've linked three of my gmail accounts to mailmate app but all
those accounts are still showing as offline in mailmate. I've
checked those gmail accounts and they show that Mailmate is a
linked app. Any suggestions please?
Thanks
Lorraine

Same problem here. I get a pop-up window asking me to authenticate MailMate to Google's Oauth, but the "allow" and "deny" buttons are greyed out. Accounts are now offline with no solution.

@Todd: This is not a known issue. What is displayed here is essentially what comes from the Google server. What happens if you cancel and try to take the account online again? Does it repeat? What if you relaunch MailMate.
@Lorraine: Do you get the same error as Todd?
As a quick solution you can disable OAuth2 in the IMAP account settings (File ▸ Edit IMAP Account ▸ ...). But I'll naturally like to debug why OAuth2 is not working for you.

HI Benny, my problem doesn't appear to be the same problem as Todd's. I've tried unchecking the 0auth2 boxes but all the accounts are still offline. I've unchecked the 0auth2 boxes but still staying offline. This happened straight after the update install - I suppose it's not possible to go back to previous version without the auth elements to see if that works? Thanks Lorraine

@Lorraine: Maybe your accounts are simply offline? What happens if you select them under SOURCES in the mailbox outline and then select “Mailbox ▸ Take Online”?

Hi Benny ..early morning brain fog.. where do i find sources?
-

In the mailboxes list in the left part of the interface. You have MAILBOXES and SOURCES. Look under SOURCES for your accounts. This is where you can do most IMAP related actions including taking things offline/online.
I hope that helps :-)

HI Benny, found, and yes, thank you. By synchonrising inbox, I'm getting back online for each of the accounts. Thank you as usual. Lorraine.

@Lorraine: When you have time then it would be nice if you could also verify that OAuth2 works. You'll probably have to enable it and then take the account offline/online to force MailMate to use it (or simply relaunch MailMate). I suspect OAuth2 was involved in taking the accounts offline initially.

HI Benny fyi... I can only get online if I keep the 0auth2 box checked. If i uncheck the box, google doesn't accept the password and the request box for that comes up repeatedly. Thanks Lorraine

@Lorraine: Hmm, that's a bit strange if it worked before the update. But I'm satisfied OAuth2 is working. I have given up on understanding exactly when Google won't accept password authentication :-)

at least all well, thanks again. My pc-owning friend is very jealous that I've got mailmate... Lorraine

Re-launching for a third time seemed to create the correct conditions where the buttons were no longer greyed out, and OAuth2 seems to be working.

@John: Thanks for the update. Let me know if you can think of anything which might be a hint with regards to when/why it fails.
