Middle mouse auto scroll.

Reported by Patrick | July 17th, 2015 @ 12:30 AM

I would love you to death if you added middle mouse click auto scroll the email message like in firefox and a lot of the windows programs out there.

There is an extension for chrome that adds it. it's not perfect but it works and you might be able to see how they do it. More preferable is the built in implementation in firefox but that code base is a bit more dense so figuring it out would be a little tougher.

the extension for chrome: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/autoscroll/occjjkgifpmdgo...

Is there a plugin system for mm? I could see about writing a plugin if it's documented.

No, such a plugin system does not exist. It sounds like some kind of system-hack would also be more appropriate although I'm not sure I understand exactly what you are asking for. Is it equivalent to the two-finger track-pad scroll on OS X, but instead using the middle button of a three-button mouse?

Thanks for the details. I understand the feature now. It's unfortunately not something I can promise as a future feature of MailMate. I googled after hacks or a custom Webview class supporting it, but I didn't find anything. Let me know if you find something (or create something) which could be utilised by MailMate. For now, this is a bluesky feature.

I guess then that this can be transformed into a feature request: Allow HTML to be altered before being displayed. It would also require MailMate to allow the user to enable Javascript (which is disabled by default).

There are other reasons I would allow HTML to be more easily altered. I'll make sure to update this ticket if that is implemented.
