Drag&drop pictures from Photos app doesn't work

#1127

When OS X shipped with iPhoto, it was easy to drag a picture in iPhoto and drop it as an attachment within the body of the window that opens to write a new message in MailMate.

Now with the new Photos app that replaced iPhoto, the MailMate isn't accepting drops from drags of Photos. Dropping still works with drags from Finder window, though. I guess it is because the drags aren't actually files with a location in the filesystem, but objects, that maybe need to be exported and temporarily stored first.

So far dragging and dropping pictures from the Photos app only worked from Photos to OS X apps like Pages, but other apps (like LibreOffice) have the same problem as MailMate.

I am currently trying out mailmate. This is the number one issue that will prevent me from buying it. If you fix this (and add a feature that lets me choose the size of the photos that I want to send), I'll buy mailmate.

I haven't yet figured out why this doesn't work, but as a workaround it's possible to use copy/paste (⌘C/⌘V). Also, in the test version of MailMate, the Share button in Photos should work (hold down ⌥ when clicking “Check Now” in the Software Update preferences pane).

@Wolfgang: Resizing is on the todo, but it's been that for a long time now, so don't expect it soon (always hard to provide time frames). All I can say is that I don't oppose such a features. Thanks for trying out MailMate!
