Convert HTML to Markdown on paste
Reported by Ilsa Loving | February 6th, 2015 @ 09:08 PM
While I generally support the idea of using markdown when composing email, there are times where it is aggravating to the point where it's easier to open a separate mail client and do the mail from there.
The specific case I am thinking of, is when you want to embed a table. Creating a table in markdown is a horrific endeavour. Even when using a WYSIWYG client, what I end up doing is creating what I want using a spreadsheet, and then copying the edited range and pasting it into a mail. In all other mail clients, this creates an HTML table.
When I paste the same table in MailMate, It only gives me the raw text, forcing me to recreate the table. Then I start to OCD while lining the column lines up so that everything looks right.
It is rare that I have to do this, but when I do, it's important enough that not being able to do it is a dealbreaker. There needs to be some kind of options for creating basic tables in MailMate.
