MailMate for iOS

Reported by Sebastian Tischer | September 22nd, 2014 @ 06:08 PM

Hi,

I know that the following ticket might sound a bit crazy and I am aware that it might not even have been in the developers wildest thoughts :)

BUT: I wanted to express my deepest wishes and thoughts that we power users need a good, fast, robust and USAGE-feature rich email client on our iOS devices.

All currently available clients are more then a joke and only be good enough for the average user.

Thats why I wanted to ask and express that I am sure, that a lot of your dear followers would be willing to pledge in another crowdfunding campaing and support an iOS client :)

A client with:

  • Markdown
  • Tag support
  • Rules for smart mailboxes
  • Sync with the desktop version ...

Especially with iOS 8 and the notification center a LOT could be achieved, just thinkig a widget showing the flagged, unread and several smart mailbox mails.

Ok, I don't want to steal more of your time here, just wanted to tell you my thoughts AND wishes.

Best and thank you for all your support and your time

Sebastian Tischer

Ditto. The Apple iOS mail client is a toy, and the few alternatives all seem to be GMail-specific.

As you might know, MailMate is a one-man business. I simply don't have the resources (time or money) to even consider an iOS client. Also, are you sure you have tried all the alternatives? It seems to be me that there is an awful lot of actively developed email clients for iOS (compared to OS X).

They all pretty much suck, heh.

You'd make a lot more money if you did an iOS client in the style of MailMate for OSX. Or contracted with someone else to do it.

There's a desperate need for a real email client on OSX. Lots of folks (like me) are using iPads and iPad Minis as netbooks (I use the iPad Mini Retina with the Zagg Rugged Folio, at present), and the toy email clients available for iOS are the biggest deficit of the platform.

I meant, 'on iOS', not 'on OSX', apologies for the spam.
