Editing URLs in new messages wrecks them

Reported by David Morrison | June 22nd, 2014 @ 11:58 PM

I am composing a new message. I type in a URL like this:

http://www.apple.co/au/mac/

This is missing the "m" on com. So I edit it to add the "m".

The "m" I added is not part of the URL any more (it is not blue), and it has been split into two URLs, neither of which work. See screenshot.

I would think that any editing of a URL should still leave the whole thing as a URL. I guess anything added to the end without a space should probably also be part of the URL. Not sure about the start - if it doesn't start with a valid protocol, then it will probably not be recognised as a URL anyway.

This is only a display issue. MailMate can only handle plain text in the Composer and anything else is just a visualization for your convenience. You can force MailMate to properly update by going to the end of the line and hit return.

Nevertheless, it is still a bug (visual glitch).
