can't choose "From" when writing a new email
Reported by Nik | September 29th, 2013 @ 08:47 PM
I just registered MailMate after using for a few weeks. I can no
longer choose (or even find) where I select a "From" when
composing. I understand that I can highlight the mailbox first and
then write from there, but I'm sure I used to see a dropdown "From"
window when composing. Where can I find this?
Cheers,
Nik

The “From” menu is not shown if MailMate can only find a single
identity. If you only have a single account then I believe you can
trigger it to be shown by providing two email addresses in the IMAP
account settings. Like this:Email Address(es): address1@example.com, address2@example.com
Thanks for your support.

Hi Benny, thanks for your fast response! I have 3 separate IMAP accounts set up in MailMate, shouldn't that be enough to trigger a "from"?

I should have described it differently. The important thing is that there is more than 1 email address defined in the 3 accounts in total. If you have no email address defined for 2 of the accounts then it'll still fail. Can this explain what you see?

Hmm, no, doesn't sound like it. I'm using 2 different email addresses (both gmail accounts), and an address for my own domain, all of those are on separate IMAP accounts.
I have MailMate installed on both my home and work computers, I'm encountering this problem at home, but not at work.
At work I see the attached, where you can see I can pick from a dropdown "From" menu (between the Signature and Attachment menus).

Hi Benny,
I went back in to the identities and saw that on both Gmail accounts there was no email address where I thought I'd put one in. I put both emails in and that fixed the problem. Thanks!
