Reply with attachments

This is probably a feature request. I can't find any mention of it in the manual.

How do you reply to a message AND include the original attachments or just one of them?

One out of multiple attachments is probably best done by dragging it to the new message.

A general “Reply with Attachments” action does not exist. The main problem is that including attachments is orthogonal to the various reply methods (reply, reply to sender, reply to all, reply to list, and maybe even more in the future).

In other words, I do see the value of the suggested functionality, but I'm not (yet) sure how to best implement it... Maybe it should be some kind of post-reply action which pulls attachments from the replied message (maybe even allowing one to only pull some of the original attachments). This could be located in the Attachments menu of the Composer.

How can you not see the value of this? You get attachment X from person A. You want to send attachment X to person B, including person A on the -REPLY-.

I want to forward the attachment to someone but include the original sender. Why is this not an option.

Especially since mailmate sucks at handling html messages and tries to attach them when forwarding.....

I have to use reply for everything, even forwarding because my counterparts HATE that the original emails are sent to them as attachments. That whole idea is just ridiculous.

    • State changed from “new” to “bluesky”

@Jeremy: I don't believe that I wrote that I didn't see the value of it, but your problem is primarily related to the primitive forwarding capabilities of MailMate. I can see you created a new ticket as well and I'll reply to that instead.

Given the age of this ticket I'll change its state to “bluesky”. It's not anywhere near the top of my list.
