How To Hack Someones IMVU Without Their Password 2021

Reported by Mike Conley | May 12th, 2021 @ 08:47 PM

I find that MailMate never seems to find contacts that are in only available in my Contacts app. I can have the app open next to a new MailMate message and begin entering an address that's clearly visible in the Contacts app, and MailMate will not autocomplete it or appear to recognise it at all.

Addresses within MailMate's sent messages seem to be working (although I haven't tried exhaustively).

This is Version 1.14 (5804), running on macOS 10.15.7, though it has been the case for some time, really.

There's a setting for this in the Composer preferences pane. Is it enabled?

What about “System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Contacts > MailMate”?

Yes. I have Contacts and From Headers ticked.

Also MailMate is ticked in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Contacts.

Maybe try disabling/enabling the permission in System Preferences.

You can also try launching MailMate like this from a Terminal window:

defaults write com.freron.MailMate MmDebugAddressCompletion -bool YES
    /Applications/MailMate.app/Contents/MacOS/MailMate

(This debug variable hasn't been used for a long time, but it should at least show if MailMate attempts to look in Contacts.)

I've disabled and re-enabled the permission, and I've switched on the debugging flag as suggested. I see a fair bit of output in Terminal. How do I know if MM is consulting Contacts? (I'm a little loathe to paste the results here without first editing out the actual email addresses.)

    • Title changed from “Contacts app content seems to be ignored” to “How To Hack Someones IMVU Without Their Password 2021”

So. some way to block these motherfuckers from screwing with your tracking software would be a good thing.

The debug output should at least contain something like:

Find matches for 'xxx' in Contacts

Just to make sure that MailMate tries to look for them.

In general, there isn't a lot of spam on the ticket system, but it seems some tickets somehow become targets for some kind of spamming algorithm. Just ignore them and I'll remove the spam messages when I see them.
