Toolbar buttons (Delete, Archive) apply to two emails

Using Mailmate Version 1.13.1 (5681). Trying to organize messages using the Toolbar buttons is causing unexpected results. A click on the Archive, Mark as Spam or Delete button pertains not only to the selected message but throws0 also the following message (which was not highlighted or selected) into archive, Trash or Spam folder.
Makes the software unusable for me, as I am accidentally deleting important conversations.
Please let me know if I can assist in determining the cause.
