Broken link for Google Voice notifications

Reported by Wes Carroll | January 15th, 2020 @ 10:24 PM

Google Voice can be set to send on email whenever a text message is received. The text of this email is:

"You have received a new group message on your Google Voice number. To view this conversation and respond, launch Google Voice (https://voice.google.com) on your mobile device or computer."

Current behavior: This link opens a browser and attempts to visit the URL "voice.google.com%29" which (incorrectly) resolves to "https://voice.google.com%29/"

Preferred behavior: This link opens a browser and visits the URL "voice.google.com" which (correctly) resolves to "https://voice.google.com/"

Thanks!

Could you send me an example using “Message > Forward as Attachment” (if it doesn't contain sensitive information)? You can use the address in “Help > Send Feedback” (you can also drag the email into the composer to attach it).

Done! (Please update or notify me if you haven't received it?)

For convenience, MailMate scans HTML messages to find any non-linked URLs and make them clickable. In this case it includes the ) in the link when it shouldn't. I've added a “fix” to at least handle this special case when a link ends with ) when there are no other uses of ( in the message. (Theoretically, the problem is unsolvable, but in practice this simple fix will likely work 99.99% of the time.)

It is, by the way, possible to completely disable this feature (MmAutoLinkPlainTextURLsInHTML), but you are unlikely to prefer that since then it won't be clickable at all.

As of build 5671 (v1.13.1), this is not working for me (i.e. working 0% of the time so far).

Should I be seeing this fix in this build?

    Thanks!

Note: FWIW this looks to me as though it might be related to bug #511.
