Mailbox Management
Reported by Charlie | October 28th, 2011 @ 07:24 PM
I deleted two Unitled folders under Inbox. When I deleted the second folder the Inbox line went blank and the count was absent. I then attempted to rename the blank line. Before I did so it renamed itself. Still no count. Later a second Inbox appeared, with the count. Both contain all my Inbox messages, I believe. However the All Messages folder is now gone. Any ideas?

Hmm, sounds very strange. Are we talking about the universal Inbox (the one in the MAILBOXES section) or are we talking about an INBOX in the SOURCES section?
How many IMAP accounts do you have in MailMate?
If this problem (missing All Messages) persists after restarting MailMate then I would like to see the following file (if you know how to locate it):
~/Library/Application Support/MailMate/Mailboxes.plist
It probably does not contain any private information.

On restart All Messages and Inbox were restored to normal operation. I have one IMAP account, the experimental Gmail account.
If there is an important folder being deleted by user, should there be a block on that activity, or a strong warning dialog?

It should not be possible to delete “All Messages” or any of the universal mailboxes (Inbox, Drafts, etc. under MAILBOXES). For me they are greyed out. Let me know if you think you have any additional information which can help me reproduce the behavior you have seen. Is “Delete Mailbox” not greyed out if you select, for example, “All Messages”?
