New IMAP accounts "unavailable"

Reported by Gary Henderson | September 21st, 2015 @ 08:34 PM

I'm trying to test out Mailmate, but cannot get either of two IMAP accounts to connect. Same settings as are working in another email client, and the same logins work in webmail. The command line "openssl s_client -connect :993" and :465 works fine, and the same server does both IMAP and SMTP. No clues are apparent in the Activity window. These are not Gmail accounts. I've looked at the existing tickets, and tried various things from there. Suggestions?<\/p>
Thanks,
Gary<\/p>

I'll need more details to figure out what is wrong. If you provide the server address then I can try connecting to it myself. Alternatively, send me the following files:

    ~/Library/Application Support/MailMate/Sources.plist
    ~/Library/Application Support/MailMate/Submission.plist

You can find an email address here.

There has been some issues with port 465, but that should only affect SMTP. You can get a test release here. That should fix any issues with this port.

I replied by email. My main question was:

Do you have any firewalls or special network settings which could play a role in this?

That was exactly the issue. I had the OS X firewall off, but after your comment prompted me to dig further I discovered the network security product I use had the MailMate application set as 'blocked' - as a default for new apps, I suppose. Mail is flowing now. Thank you! Apologies for not having found that earlier, before I contacted you. Close the ticket, please.
